Brian L. Sullivan is Birds of the World project lead at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. From 2005-2017 he served as a project leader for eBird. His academic papers have focused on the power of gathering observational data at scale, engaging communities, and delivering science for conservation impact. His interest in bird identification, sound recording, and photography have taken him around the world. He is co-author of several books on bird ID, including Better Birding (快色直播, 2016) as well as the co-creator of the groundbreaking 鈥楻aptor ID鈥� app for mobile devices. 

Michael O鈥橞rien is an author, artist, and tour leader for Victor Emanuel Nature Tours living in West Cape May, NJ. He is co-author of The Shorebird Guide, Flight Calls of Migratory Birds, and America鈥檚 100 Most Wanted Birds, and author of Larkwire, an app for learning bird sounds. His illustrations have been published in National Geographic鈥檚 Field Guide to the Birds of North America and the Peterson Field Guide to Birds of North America. 

Christopher Wood is a field ornithologist, conservationist, and birder based in Ithaca, NY. He is Program Director of the Center for Avian Population Studies at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Director of eBird, leading efforts to turn bird observations into actionable conservation worldwide. He is passionate about making bird data and knowledge more accessible to birders, scientists, and decision-makers. 

Steve N. G. Howell is an international bird tour leader with WINGS, a Research Associate of the California Academy of Sciences and Point Blue Conservation Science, and a prolific writer. A world-renowned expert on oceanic and neotropical birds, Steve has authored numerous books and other publications, including Oceanic Birds of the World (快色直播, 2019, co-authored with Kirk Zufelt) and recent field guides to the birds of Belize and Costa Rica (both 快色直播 and co-authored with Dale Dyer). 

Ian Lewington, principal illustrator for this book, is widely recognized as one of the world鈥檚 most accompished bird illustrators. He has been obsessed with watching and drawing birds from childhood, an interest inspired by his natural historian father and brother. Since winning 鈥楤ird Illustrator of the Year鈥� in 1985 Ian's illustrations have appeared in many books and journals including Rare Birds of North America (快色直播, 2014), Rare Birds of Britain and Europe, The Auks, and the multi-volume Birds of the World. He has been county bird recorder for Oxfordshire, UK since 1994. 

Lorenzo Starnini is an Italian wildlife illustrator specializing in birds. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with international journals, universities, research institutions, and the Italian Ministry of the Environment on a wide range of projects. His work integrates the distinct characteristics of two seemingly divergent approaches to artwork: the sensitivity of traditional artistic techniques and the precision of digital illustration. All his artwork for this guide was created digitally with meticulous attention to detail.
