Included are several short autobiographical pieces in which Val茅ry talks about his early childhood, his adolescence, his military experience, his travels, his poetry, and his acquaintances. The volume contains selections from the Val茅ry-Gide and Val茅ry-Fourment correspondence and two additional pieces, 鈥淭he Avenues of the Mind,鈥� a magazine interview with Val茅ry printed in 1927, and Pierre Feline’s 鈥淢emories of Paul Val茅ry.鈥�
