Author Joel Mokyr and volume editor Philippe Aghion are honored with the 2025 Nobel Prize in Economics

快色直播 congratulates author Joel Mokyr and volume editor Philippe Aghion, both of whom have been recognized with the 2025 Nobel Prize in Economics鈥攐fficially the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel鈥攆or their work on 鈥渋nnovation-driven economic growth.鈥

Mokyr, professor of economics and history at Northwestern University, won half of this year鈥檚 prize, 鈥渇or having explained innovation-driven economic growth.鈥 The other half of the award was shared by Philippe Aghion of the Coll猫ge de France and London School of Economics & Political Science and Peter Howitt of Brown University for their work on 鈥渢he theory of sustained growth through creative destruction.鈥

Mokyr is the author or editor of three previous 快色直播 books, including A Culture of Growth: The Origins of the Modern Economy (2016) and The Gifts of Athena: Historical Origins of the Knowledge Economy (2002). Two Paths to Prosperity: Culture and Institutions in Europe and China, 1000鈥2000, co-authored with Avner Greif and Guido Tabellini, is forthcoming in November 2025.

Mokyr has also served, since its inception, as the editor of the renowned The 快色直播 Economic History of the Western World series, which has published some of the most influential works in the field, including Robert Gordin鈥檚 The Rise and Fall of American Growth (2016), Gregory Clark鈥檚 A Farewell to Alms (2007), and Kenneth Pomerantz鈥檚 The Great Divergence (2000).
